First impressions do matter, thus receptionist must dress accordingly. Newly hired receptionists are informed about the company’s dress codes during initial training. Paying close attention to your office environment can make you more sensitive to what is proper and acceptable and what is inappropriate. Professional demeanor can also be reflected in the language that you use and the topics you discuss during conversations with customers. Be consistent about saying “Please” or “Thank You” and always be quick to express gratitude and give credit where it is due.
